Blogging isn’t just for recording details of your daily life on a personal level anymore. They are being used by people to brand themselves and their businesses as an authority in their niche and to drive highly targeted website visitors to your site with the intent of making a sale.
Blogging is rapidly becoming the mainstream choice for internet marketers due for the most part that they are able to interconnect with search engines to gain extra traffic, earn extra monies through advertising and thirdly that they are able to see via analytics how their business is performing. In a nutshell, you can do most of your research by visiting Google and investigate all the services that they provide the website owner. The list is quite extensive, and you can get lots of help by visiting Youtube.
Blogging & Search Engines
I mentioned search engines and the way they work as the driving force behind the increasing popularity of blogs as a business website, here’s what I mean. All search engines love to give their customers and anyone who uses the search engines easier ways to find the things they are looking for. Search engines want quality results for their users. The speed and accuracy of a search often produce quality results when the content is fresh and the keywords present during the user’s search. For this reason, the search engines love fresh content and accurate keywords. When you put up a ‘regular’ static website the content doesn’t change very often… if ever.

The content on a blog is constantly changing, which keeps that site fresh and in the top 10 of every search engine if it is getting lots of traffic. This ever-changing content along with good keywords keep the blog owner well rewarded with higher search rankings and higher pay for his advertising. Higher page ranking puts more demand on the blog owner to keep adding new content. The more content daily, weekly and monthly directly affect the blogs traffic stats and income.
It is very easy to see that a blog owner that posts fresh content daily will get more recognition from the search engines than one that only posts every month or so. Another method of ranking is the traffic going to the site and the time that each visitor stays on the site. If a visitor plays a video, clicks a banner or comments on your blog, this will also lead to the blog owner getting higher rankings because they are engaging with the visitor.
Blogging – choose your platform
The next thing you’ll want to keep in mind when starting your blog is that if you want to build a business around it you need to be willing to invest a little money. You don’t want to stick with the free Blogger platforms because you don’t actually own anything. If you buy your own domain name (for around $10) and you have that domain hosted (around $10/month) you will actually own that little piece of internet real estate. You can do whatever you want with your domain, including selling it.
You also want to think carefully about what the topic of your blog will be, this is really important if you plan on making money with your blog. Careful choice of the niche market you’re going to build your business it is something that is too often overlooked. If you take some time to pick a good niche market, the rest of your business building will be much easier. Picking the right niche is about 90% of the battle.
We hope that we have sparked some ideas for you to use in your next project, that you take some time to do a bit of research on purchasing domain names and hosting.
